On
Sunday, March 24, from 3-5 p.m., artist and Germantown resident Dawn Breeze
will lead a workshop on "Creativity and Courage" at the Germantown
Library. Through exposure to a variety of artistic and playful hands-on
exercises, participants will deepen their ability to express thoughts
and feelings, allowing for discovery of new ways to problem solve,
communicate and connect with both themselves and others. "For
most of our lives we have been encouraged to 'get down to business,'
with little time reserved for contemplation or experimentation," says
Dawn. She goes on to point out that "when there is supportive space for
creativity, answers are born. When we
activate our creative mind, we experience shifts in our existing
beliefs and discover new ideas. When our creativity is unleashed, we
are able to develop new artistic language skills, deepen our connections
with others and have the confidence to become our most authentic
selves." This workshop is not just for those that think of themselves as
artists, but for anyone who practices creative expression -- doctors,
scientists, parents, writers, gardeners, teachers, mechanics -- in
short, all of us. For every person is born with the gift of creativity.
No matter what your skill set is, or where your interests lie, you will
benefit from exploring and strengthening your creative potential.
The workshop is free of charge, but enrollment is limited, so early sign-up is highly encouraged. Please register by either sending an email to the program coordinator, Heather Gibbons at germantownlibraryevents@yahoo. com, or by calling the library at 518.537.5800.
